# CID Integration via Addressable Pixel

This guide explains how to send your internal CID over the Addressable Pixel.

Sending your internal CID allows Addressable to send you valuable data about your customers, so you can correlate them with their contact details and reach them with special offers.

## Step 1: Add the Addressable Pixel using one of two options

1. [Google Tag Manger](https://addressable.gitbook.io/knowledge-base/event-tracking/addressable-pixel/pixel-via-google-tag-manager-gtm)<br>
2. [Javascript SDK](https://addressable.gitbook.io/knowledge-base/event-tracking/addressable-pixel/pixel-via-javascript-sdk-js)

## Step 2: Add the internal CID as a custom property

1. Add your internal CID as a custom property to the Addressable basecode and name it user\_id. The internal CID will be added as a property to every pageview.

2. Make sure your internal CID is populated within pageviews after users sign up or log in.<br>
3. If the internal CID is not populated within pageview events, add two custom events for signup and login, and add the internal CID as a custom property for each of them.\
   \
   `window.__adrsbl.run('signup', true, [`\
   `{ "name": "user_id", "value": "123D432" },`\
   `]);`\
   \
   `window.__adrsbl.run('login', true, [`\
   `{ "name": "user_id", "value": "824A235" },`\
   `]);`\ <br>
4. If you're sending the internal CID with s2s signup and login events, the user\_id property should be populated with our cookie \_\_\_adrsbl\_nonce, and your internal CID should be delivered by an additional custom property called internal\_cid."

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://addressable.gitbook.io/knowledge-base/event-tracking/addressable-pixel/cid-integration-via-addressable-pixel.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
